Zuzana Osako
As an illustrator, I observe the world around me and tell its stories through images, which sometimes evolve into original patterns. My subjects are most often scenes connected to traditional folk culture, crafts, and nature; I also specialize in fashion illustration and portraiture. Together with my son, Luigi, we collaborate on these unique patterns to bring a modern touch to traditional roots.
As a designer, I primarily create under my own brand, Tradice (Tradition), where I reinterpret elements of folk heritage so they serve well in contemporary life. In our work, ethics and aesthetics go hand in hand. I am mindful of how and from what we produce—whether I am collaborating with master artisans, recognized Bearers of Folk Craft Traditions, or partnering with larger local workshops for serial production.
